Strictly for the Hardcore!

Posted on February 09, 2013 by Juicers Best | 5 comments

And by hardcore, we mean this recipe is NOT for those that have been clutching to carrots, apples and pears for their sweet disposition.

No mas!

  • 4 kale leaves
  • 1/2 broccoli with stems
  • 1/2 head of cabbage

For those with a sensitive gag reflex - no shame in the game - throw in a couple apples and carrots.

Yes, throw in a couple apples and carrots.

this sounds awesome!I have long since stop using apples, carrots, pears etc. in my green juices but always add either lemon or lime and they always taste fabulous, infact I ordered a green juice out and they put apple in it(not on the list of ingredients) and I found it cloyingly sweet and had to ask them to redo it without the apple. Green Juices rock!

Why start your day gagging? I tried that and got right over it. I always start my juice with cabbage and blue kale, but then I toss in a lime (peel and all), a wedge of green pepper, a chunk of cucumber, a green apple, and some cilantro. Still green, but a whole lot tastier.

Anything with that much cabbage is definitely hardcore. When I was 29 years old, I had an ulcer and my health insurance provider declined coverage for treatment of the problem or even an endoscopy, due to me being too young. I found that if you juice a whole head of cabbage and portion it out into 2 ounce shots (shot glass sized), I was able to get it down the hatch quickly. After 1 week of this regimen, Ulcer was GONE forever. It may not work for you, but it surely worked for me and I thought I would share-

You could always throw in a handful of dandelion greens for the ultimate hardcore challenge! This is right up my alley. I love finding new juice recipes that are pure green.

I am definitely trying this tomorrow.. without the apples/carrots. I absolutely love greens so hopefully this will all go down well.
