Cranberry Apple Delight
For those partial to tart flavors, here's your fix. Freshly juiced cranberries pack an awesome preventative punch against ailments like heart disease, bladder and urinary tract infections. Good luck trying to get these health benefits from the bottled stuff that you'll find at the grocery store or your local convenience store. That stuff isn't pure cranberry juice, it's what's called cranberry cocktail. Cranberry juice that's been reduced with water and a high fructose content, processed, frozen, melted, mixed with water and some more high fructose stuff then bottled. During this process, oxidation opportunities abound. By the time you open your bottle and pour the concoction into your glass or put it to your lips, all of the valuable minerals and nutrients are gone. Cranberries have an enormous tart flavor and aren't particularly sweet. For some sweetness, this recipe looks to the granny smith apple. Rock the flavor, with benefits! Cheers!
- 2 granny smith apples
- 1/2 cup cranberries
- Clean and cut the above ingredients to the right size for your juicer.
- Start off with some apple, then mix in some cranberries, and continue juicing a mixture or alternating, ending with the apple.
- Taste the greatness that is real cranberry juice!
